The skin is in a continual renewal process. This renewal takes place every twenty-one to twenty-four days. During this process, new scalp cells are being formed, as old skin cells are being shed. If your scalp has the proper moisture balance, the oils secreted from the sebaceous glands assist in regulating this exfoliation process. Flaking and itching occurs when the body's moisture balance is out of sync and the exfoliation process does not happen at the normal rate. This type of imbalance can appear in two forms: Pityriasis Capitus Simplex and Pityriasis Steatoides. Pityriasis Simplex is flaking with symptoms of an itchy scalp with small white flakes/scales, usually as a result of an under active oil gland. While Pityriasis Steatoides is diagnosed by oily scalp residue and flaking, it is usually attributed to an over-active oil gland. It was seven years ago when I was introduced to ORS products. I was in my in-between (relaxed to natural) stages where I was wearing my hair natural (corn rows, micros, afros, and all) and I tried everything, but nothing worked. Until my sister who braids hair as a side gig and she introduced my to the Shea Butter lotion. There was no turning back. It made my scalp feel soooo good. Five years ago, I started wearing my hair straight (inbetween stages again). I started using the Olive Oil Sheen Spray and couldn't resist. It leaves a great shine and it's not heavy. Now I'm a seven year ORS veteran and I continue to be a lifetime consumer of these products. It's not just about shine, it's about healthy hair. I have ORS hair!!! Lovin' it!!! Holla!!!

I lived in a small town in Central Cali. African American hair care products were scarce to say the least. I couldn't wait to get back to Chicago so I could walk into ANY beauty supply store and have my pick of a million different products. A week before I was hired at Namaste, I picked up a box of ORS relaxer. Prior to this I had been a long time user of the brand sold at Sally's Beauty Supply. I can't even remember the name. But I figured if I was gonna work for the company, I need to at least be aware of how good, or bad, the products are. Talk about being blown away. The relaxer straightened my hair better than any other home relaxer kit I had ever used. Not only did it straighten my hair, it left my hair and scalp moisturized. My scalp was usually dry as the Sahara desert, but this time was different.The kit includes so many products to take care of every step of the relaxer process: straightening, neutralizing the relaxer, conditioning, and styling. Now of course once I told my girlfriend about it, she starts to tell me how she loves the products and has been using them for a while. What kind of friend wouldn't pass this info along?? I was glad to know that I wasn't the only one I knew that is happy with the products. I even use the moisturizing lotion and aloe vera shampoo on my one year old's hair. His hair was really dry before I started using those products. Now I can comb his hair very easily, even if I skip a day of moisturizing. Anyone who has a child whose hair needs to be combed, can appreciate it when the product you use makes your job easier. I'm not only a spokesperson, I'm a client. ORS products really add to the overall health of your hair. In this economy, going to the salon may no longer be an option. So why not by products that give you the same salon results? That's exactly what I do.

For a while I gave up on using products, only using Vaseline for my hair (which isn’t healthy because it clogs the pores of your scalp and it prevents your hair from growing). I was introduced to Organic Root Stimulator about 8 months ago and let me tell you, I love my hair. It is the healthiest I’ve seen my hair since I was a little girl.
